Power is a funny concept; everyone wants it, but you can never truly have it. Power comes in many forms, and those forms can change. Most people don't even know how to use power when they have it. But throughout history, some people learned how to use it and, what do you know, almost all of those people are some form of political force: Kings who use their kids as pawns in a chess game and secretly kill the kids who have a shot at the throne, Parliament getting rid of kings they don't like for their own gain, The church using gods will to commit genocide. A modern example would be owners of big companies bribing people to get their way.

Every single one of these parties has a different and unique form of power and they mold it to suit their purpose, but it's not always negative. A rare few people use power to help other people (people being nice to other people, how shocking).
