The Brobdingnagians from Gulliver's Travels have a much better idea of the world then the Lilliputians (also from Gulliver's Travels), but Brobdingnagians still have a hard time expecting anything does not fit the mold that they made. The name Brobdingnagians literally means a giant and as you guess they are a race of giants. This was rather scary for Gulliver. They could kill him and not even notice but the Brobdingnagian treat Gulliver rather well with a few acceptations. The reason Brobdingnagians treated Gulliver so well is because the Brobdingnagians have all the control in this situation. They can destroy Gulliver's home with a sneeze. Gulliver is a toy to them a sore of amusement and nothing more.

People always want control, but most people can't have it, so they take control of people they see as being lesser than them. Both the Brobdingnagians and Lilliputians see Gulliver. The Lilliputians have no control, but Brobdingnagians just want more control.
